In many cases, people talk about the shaft in the club being the actual engine and the most important component when it comes to how you hit your driver. There is some truth to that, but it is the best combination of the shaft and the head, as well as the head adjustments, that can truly help you hit your best drives. One should not underestimate the possibilities of adjusting the loft/lie on the driver to achieve the best result.
Below, we show you the adjustments you can make and the process how to use the Callaway OptiFit hosel to optimize ball flight and performance in your driver.
Step 1. Take your Callaway torque wrench and make it ready for use.
Step 2. On the heel side of the driver’s sole, use the torque wrench to unscrew and separate the clubhead from the shaft.
The hosel consists of two cogs - an upper cog and a lower cog - that rotate independently to provide a total of 8 possible loft and lie combinations.
Step 1. To reattach the driver head to the shaft with your preferred setting, line up the hosel sleeve with the line found on the upper part of the hosel.
Step 2: Once the clubhead and the shaft are reconnected, use your torque wrench to tighten and lock the screw. The driver head and shaft are safely connected when you hear a double “click.”
So, what can an adjustment to your driver hosel actually do? Adjusting your driver’s hosel settings allows you to fine-tune its loft and lie angle, which will impact ball flight. Get it dialed in and you can launch balls higher or lower depending on your preference—and if you play golf often, getting familiar with these adjustments can give you a winning edge as your swing changes or inclement weather hits!

The different lie settings are stated below:
With the two cogs moving independently in the Callaway OptiFit adapter, it is possible to find the perfect combination of lie and loft - just for you.
Hopefully it's now become clearer to you how to proceed when setting up your new Callawaydriver.
We wish you great luck on the course!
