TaylorMade Qi4D driver 2026: everything you need to know about Qi4D

TaylorMade is back with an even clearer “speed focus” with Qi4D – a driver line designed to combine ball speed, smarter fitting and “controlled forgiveness” without chasing extreme MOI at the expense of speed.

In this guide, we go through the three main models most people are talking about (Core, Max and LS) – and also Max Lite, a lightweight option within the same family.

What’s new in the TaylorMade Qi4D?

1) Four dimensions of speed”

TaylorMade describes “4D” as four interacting areas where speed is created: head design, aerodynamics, face and fitting.
The idea is that there isn’t one single magic solution – the complete package is what makes the difference.

2) Updated carbon face + more consistent spin across the face

The Qi4D family builds on TaylorMade’s carbon composite face (5th generation) with updated face geometry (bulge/roll) and a new variable thickness design.

The goal: more consistent results when you don’t strike it right in the sweet spot.

Spin control: TaylorMade believes a tighter roll radius can reduce spin variation significantly,

especially on strikes higher on the face (where many drivers can become “too low spin” and create unpredictable carry gaps).

3) More multi-material – and Max/Max Lite without titanium

In the Qi4D family, TaylorMade continues with carbon in both the face and crown, and in some models an even bigger move away from titanium.

The Max & Max Lite models are built completely without titanium and use an aluminium structure to save weight and reposition mass for a more stable head and better fitting potential.

The models: Core, Max and LS (plus Max Lite)

1) Qi4D Core – “all-round” with the most fitting potential

For you if: you want a fast, balanced driver that can be fine-tuned a lot (launch/spin/shot shape).

The Core head is the “center point” of the lineup – with a clear ambition to be the most adjustable and work for the widest range of golfers.
A big feature here is the adjustable weights (multiple weights to influence both stability and spin/launch), plus TaylorMade’s hosel adjustment.

Loft: 8°, 9°, 10.5°, 12°.

In short: Core is often the “best starting point” in a fitting if you don’t already know you need low spin (LS) or maximum help (Max).

Qi4D Max – most forgiving and stable

For you if: you prioritize forgiveness, stability and help on off-center strikes.

Qi4D Max is built for forgiveness with a larger profile and a focus on stability (MOI). Max also has front/back weighting to adjust launch and spin.

Loft: 9°, 10.5°, 12°.

In short: If your miss often means you lose a lot of distance or direction on “slightly thin” or “slightly toe” strikes, Max is often the smart choice.

3) Qi4D LS – low spin and “speed first”

For you if: you have higher swing speed and/or tend to spin the driver too much, and want to reduce spin for a more penetrating ball flight.

The LS model is designed to deliver lower spin through a more forward center of gravity (CG) and a more “player-oriented” profile. Both Golf Digest and MyGolfSpy describe LS as the option for golfers who want maximum speed/lowest spin – and that it features adjustable weights to balance low spin with a bit more stability.

Loft: 8°, 9°, 10.5°.

In short: LS can be exactly right – but it often punishes you more if you choose it when spin and launch don’t actually need to be reduced.

Our YouTube test: Qi4D for real (not just specifications)

We’ve made a YouTube video where we go deeper into the Qi4D models and test the driver in a more practical way – focusing on how they differ in launch, spin, ball speed & dispersion.

Watch the full test on YouTube – where we compare the models and explain which Qi4D fits different types of golfers!
